Another incredible Joelinton stat emerges after NUFC star picks up well deserved award

Before Saturday’s game at St James’ Park, Joelinton was presented with the club’s Player of the Month award – and it’s easy to see why when you consider the following.

Since his transition from the front line to midfield, Joelinton has made more tackles (40) than ANY other Premier League player; an incredible statistic when you consider his lack of experience in the position!

Brought in to solve the a lack of goal scoring, the big man has now been transformed into a powerful ball-winner willing to challenge and fight for everything – becoming an absolute warrior and a real fan favourite.

The 25-year-old’s first start in this deeper role came in a 3-1 loss at Anfield – only Eddie Howe’s sixth game in charge since becoming manager in November 2021 – and he’s outperformed every single Premier League player in the tackling department ever since.

Following this performance, Joelinton is yet to be dropped from the midfield and is one of the first names on the team sheet among both the manager and fans.

In one particular game against Manchester United – which some may call his breakout game – the £40million man put in a man of the match performance on Monday Night Football, receiving praise from fans around the country.

After a very slow start to life in the Premier League, Joelinton would most definitely have a case for being the most improved player in the league and could be on track to win our Player of the Season award if he keeps it up!
