Club release magic video from NUFC dressing room & hit back at Southampton’s Hasenhuttl

Newcastle United released their trademark team photo (see above) following last night’s 2-1 win at Southampton, but they also shared a brilliant video from the away dressing room.

After working his socks off and doing a lot of dirty work since completing a move from Burnley in January, it’s fair to say everyone has been desperate to see Chris Wood get that monkey off his back and bag his first goal for the club.

His moment finally arrived last night and what a great header it was, with NUFC releasing magical footage of the reception he received when entering the dressing room after the game.

Watch the clip below, which highlights just how much love, support and togetherness exists within the current squad!

Newcastle United’s media team then aimed a not so subtle dig at Southampton’s Ralph Hasenhuttl – a manager who was asking for our new signings to be banned from playing this fixture as they wouldn’t have been around to feature had it taken place in January!

Here’s what the club posted after the game, making a point of how influential our January signings were on the night:

Hasenhuttl’s comments were ridiculous and he kept going in his pre-match press conference, so it was pretty priceless that two new signings scored (Wood and Guimaraes), with Targett and Burn also playing a big part in our winner!

  1. Love that!!. That shows a real togetherness & for the other players to acknowledge Wood like that – it gave me goosebumps.

So pleased for the lad, coz he’s taken so criticism for sections of the media. But he’s been brilliant since he’s came in.

  2. Newcastle were impressive as a team vs saints. As a saints fan I believe we deserved at least a point but well done to Eddie for putting the fight back into the magpies.
