Mehrdad Ghodoussi responds to takeover rumours after Reuben is linked with Chelsea bid

Medrdad Ghodoussi has declared that Jamie Reuben will “never leave” him in a social media post that appears to respond to reports circulating in recent days.

Just a few days ago, BNN Bloomberg claimed that Newcastle director Jamie Reuben was considering a potential bid for Chelsea.

The Premier League giants have been put up for sale by Roman Abramovich and the London-born businessman was linked with a surprise move for his boyhood club.

However, Ghodoussi’s latest post on Twitter and light hearted reaction to the rumour suggests he’s going nowhere.

Here’s what Staveley’s husband had to say when posting a picture of all three on the way to last night’s game at Southampton – a post that Reuben quoted with the line “Best team, #WeAreUnited”…

To own a stake in Chelsea, Jamie Reuben would have to walk away from Newcastle United and no longer be a board member, but this doesn’t look like a man who is remotely interested in walking away from this exciting new project at St James’ Park!
