More great news at NUFC as Eddie Howe lands Premier League award – Photo & official reaction

The good news just keeps on coming at Newcastle United, as Eddie Howe has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for February!

The Newcastle United boss beat Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Southampton’s Ralph Hasenhuttl to the award, with February seeing us pick up three wins and a draw.

  • Newcastle 3-1 Everton
  • Newcastle 1-0 Aston Villa
  • West Ham 1-1 Newcastle
  • Brentford 0-2 Newcastle

Back to back home wins, two clean sheets, several outstanding performances and a well deserved pat on the back for Eddie; who has done an absolutely incredible job on Tyneside.

It also speaks volumes that he’s included all of his coaches and backroom staff in the official photo of him collecting the award.

A touch of class, but also more proof that Eddie knows this is very much a TEAM effort – which is evident in the way every single player puts in a shift.

Here’s what he told NUFC.co.uk after picking up the prize:

“It feels really nice and I’m very thankful to receive the award, but I’m receiving it, really, on behalf of everyone connected with the club – the staff, the players, the owners.

“I’m just the guy who stands on the touchline but there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to produce consistent results so I have to say a big thank you to everyone connected with the club, including the supporters.

“They’re the extra man and they made such a difference for us during the month, so a big thank you to them, too.”

Elsewhere, Ryan Fraser was beaten to the Player of the Month award, as Liverpool’s Joel Matip was voted February’s star player just moments ago.
