Newcastle United are showing interesting in Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to The Mail.
They report that we are preparing to rival Aston Villa for the signing of the England international; who could leave Elland Road at the end of the season whether they stay up or not.
Phillips, 26, has been missing since December due to a hamstring issue, however it’s believed we registered our interest in January and have been monitoring developments ever since.
The same piece also claims that we’ve made initial enquiries over a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, while Brighton’s Yves Bissouma is said to be our plan B should a move for Phillips fail to materialise.
Antonio Rudiger is another players of interest, according to The Mail, however they believe he would turn down any offer from St James’ Park as he wants to be playing Champions League football once he leaves Chelsea on a free transfer.
