Newcastle United make the trip to Goodison Park on Thursday for their clash against relegation-threatened Everton.
The Magpies currently sit nine points clear of their Merseyside counterparts and will be keen to get back to winning ways after their weekend loss.
Match Preview
Newcastle United had a good run at the start of this year, going undefeated for eight games before cruelly falling to a 1-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Despite being denied what seemed a clear penalty, Eddie Howe’s men looked set to secure a hard-fought point before conceding a late goal to Kai Havertz.
Before his winning goal, Havertz was a tad lucky to still be on the pitch following a strong challenge on Dan Burn in the first half.
After coming away from West London empty-handed, Newcastle currently sit 14th in the Premier League table and are still four points adrift of the top half, albeit with a game in hand.
Their next task sees them go up against an opposing side who were on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat in last month’s reverse fixture.
Off the back of three straight victories against their hosts, Wednesday’s visitors set out to complete back-to-back league doubles and continue their fine run of form in this fixture.
