Double boost for NUFC as new report reveals when Trippier & Wilson could be back in action

According to The Telegraph, both Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson are targeting a return to first team action next month.

Luke Edwards reports that both have identified our home clash with Crystal Palace on Wednesday 20th April as a possible return date.

If not, they are expected to be back in the squad for our trip to Norwich City on Saturday 23rd April, suggesting both will definitely feature over the final month of the 2021/22 season.

Trippier broke a bone in his foot during our 1-0 win over Aston Villa last month, while Callum Wilson hasn’t featured since a 1-1 draw with Man Utd just a few days after Christmas.

The Telegraph report that Trippier is now able to put some weight on his foot after having his protective boot removed, leaving staff pleased with his progress and hopeful he can play in next month’s clash with Crystal Palace now he’s expected to be running again ‘within the next two weeks.’

As for Wilson, he’s still our top scorer on six goals and is back doing some light running at our warm-weather training camp in Dubai.

With us losing our last two games and Eddie Howe aware there is still work to be done yet before we are safe, it’s great to hear both could be back in action next month!
