Journalist claims NUFC have joined race to sign €40m Belgian – Leicester, AC Milan & Napoli also keen

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Newcastle are one of four clubs who have shown interest in Club Brugge star Charles De Ketelaere.

The 21-year-old has impressed in the Jupiler Pro League with 19 goal contributions in 30 appearances so far this season and four caps for the Belgian national team.

De Ketelaere is a very versatile player who can score and create goals and has shown the ability to play up front, as a No.10 or out on the left wing.

The Belgian international will still have two years left on his contract in the summer, so Club Brugge can demand a £40 million fee for him, but all reports are suggesting that he favours a move to a bigger European league.

Tavolieri has claimed that ‘Milan and Napoli like him’ and that ‘there are Leicester and Newcastle’ in the picture also – the English sides currently the favourites for his signature due to Club Brugge’s high demands.

Here’s what Tavolieri told Calciomercato.it’s CMIT TV when asked about the sides interested in the player:

“Milan like him and also Napoli.

For the Rossoneri, he is the perfect profile, but Brugge are asking for €40m.

He is not a priority for Milan, and on him, there are Leicester and Newcastle.”
