Euro 2020 star now being tracked by NUFC officials with £25m deal on offer – Report

According to Lee Ryder, Newcastle are keeping a close eye on Sassuolo and Italy winger Domenico Berardi along with fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal and Leicester City.

The 27-year-old has played for the Serie A side for the last 12 years, making 204 league appearances and scoring 69 goals.

This season alone he has 14 goals and 14 assists in just 27 appearances in the league – more combined goal contributions than anyone else in Serie A.

Berardi made his debut for the Italian national team in 2018, going on to earn 23 caps for his country as well as being a key part of the squad that beat England in the final of Euro 2020 – Berardi scored the first penalty for Italy and bagged two assists over the tournament.

Newcastle, Arsenal and Leicester have all been scouting the talented forward in recent months, with The Chronicle reporting that he’s expected to be available for £25m this summer.

Eddie Howe will be desperate for more attacking options in the summer and Berardi could be a similar signing to that of Bruno Guimaraes – a real statement of intent by Newcastle and someone who may just be tempted by the project on offer?
