New owners slap £15m asking price on NUFC star as Howe prepares for ‘major overhaul’ – Report

Football Insider report that Newcastle are ready to sell Miguel Almiron this summer, slapping a £15 million asking price on the Paraguayan’s head.

In what could be a hectic transfer window on Tyneside, we’ll hope to free up space in the squad and add some extra funds by shipping out the 28-year-old for £6m less than the £21m we paid for him in 2019.

The report claims that a ‘major overhaul’ could take place over the coming months, with Almiron one of several fringe men likely to be moved on by Eddie Howe.

Almiron is yet to score or assist in 24 appearances so far this season and is one of multiple players set for a summer exit as Eddie Howe plans an overhaul of his squad.

It’s unfortunate that a player who brought so much promise and excitement on his arrival has never really got going, with him a hard worker who always plays with a smile on his face.

However, the attacking midfielder has struggled with the physicality of the Premier League and has often lacked composure in the final third. As a result, a move to La Liga or Serie A could be a wise one for the former Atlanta United star, who may even receive interest from the MLS.

If a move was to materialise in the near future, both parties would leave on good terms with the majority of fans grateful for the passion and dedication Almiron showed during his time here.
