Rangers star back on Newcastle United’s radar ahead of summer transfer window?

According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle are one of several clubs showing interest in Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

The 26-year-old joined Rangers back in 2019 after spending his youth career in England and has been ever-present in their midfield – helping them to win the Scottish Premiership last season under Steven Gerrard.

This season, Kamara has played in 28 of the 31 league games for Rangers while also being a crucial factor in their European success as they prepare to face Braga in the Europa League quarter-finals.

We would face a lot of competition for the Finnish international who has previously attracted the likes of Monaco, Lille and Borussia Dortmund, with the report stating that ourselves, Southampton, Brentford, Brighton, Leeds and Everton are all admirers.

A potential destination for the 40-time capped player could be Aston Villa, where he would be reunited with former manager Steven Gerrard who helped to transform him into the box-to-box midfielder he is today.

Manager Eddie Howe is said to have identified the need for at least one new midfielder and clearly Kamara has continued to impress our scouts; who’ve reportedly been tracking Kamara since 2020.
