VIDEO – Watch Bruno Guimaraes’ brilliant goal and stunning assist in Brazil’s 4-0 win last night

Bruno Guimaraes put in a stunning display in Brazil’s 4-0 win over Bolivia in the early hours of Wednesday morning, bagging a superb goal and equally stunning assist in their latest World Cup qualifier.

The 24-year-old added a second assist in as many sub appearances in their convincing win over Chile last week, but he was in from the start this time and boy did he deliver.

He set up close friend and former Lyon teammate Lucas Paqueta via a brilliant run and perfectly weighted outside of the foot pass on the 16-minute mark, then grabbed a goal for himself in the second half after lashing a volley – set up by Paqueta – into the top corner in some style.

Watch both goals below, starting with his top quality assist:

So, in his last three appearances for his country, our £35m man and midfield maestro has a goal, a man of the match award and three assists – despite only starting in one of those games.

What a talent we have on our hands!

I suppose we are getting used to everything that is said against the Toon being described as pathetic.

By the same logic, everything that is decent is now described as brilliant and stunning, when, had it been done by another team it would be just “OK”.

You missed out unbelievable, staggering, extraordinary, incredible, outstanding, impressive, amazing, astonishing, marvelous, phenomenal, splendid and imposing.

Apologies for getting excited when a NUFC player bags a brilliant assist – it was brilliant – and scores a lovely goal when playing for Brazil…

    Deary me.
