Newcastle announce out-of-window exit as Toon talent leaves on a permanent deal

Newcastle academy product Jack Young has completed a permanent move to League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers following his loan spell at the club.

The midfielder joined the Chairboys in January on loan until the end of the season, but all parties decided on making it a permanent transfer to the Buckinghamshire club.

The 21-year-old joined our academy at the age of seven – signing a professional contract in 2019 – and went on train with the first team on numerous occasions as well as playing in some pre-season games against Rotherham, Burton, Doncaster and Burnley.

Young had also appeared on the bench three times in the Premier League towards the end of the 2019/20 season before joining Tranmere Rovers on loan in October 2020.

The Morpeth-born youngster will join Wycombe in the midst of a fight for the League One playoff places and could come up against Sunderland in their battle for promotion.

The former academy star regularly captained our Under-23 side and the club and fans wish him the best in his career going forwards.
