Sky Sports: Former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew seals sudden return to football management

After a few years away from football management, it looks like Alan Pardew will be back in the dugout this Sunday.

As revealed by Sky Sports News this afternoon, the former Newcastle United boss has agreed to take charge of CSKA Sofia on a ‘short-term basis.’

The 60-year-old was appointed the club’s Technical Director back in November 2020 but has now stepped down from that role and taken first-team training today after manager Stoycho Mladenov announced his resignation just a few hours ago.

Pardew was named the bookies favourite to replace Mark Robinson at League One side AFC Wimbledon just a few weeks ago, however it seems his first managerial job for almost two years will be in Bulgaria.

He is expected to take charge of their clash with Levski Sofia on Sunday, but may only stay for the remainder of the season.
