Premier League manager sacked as NUFC’s relegation rivals make shock move – The Athletic

According to The Athletic, relegation rivals Burnley have just sacked Sean Dyche.

After almost almost a decade in charge at Turf Moor, the 50-year-old has left the club with just eight games left to play.

He leaves Burnley in 18th, with the club currently four points from safety after Everton’s 1-0 win over Man Utd was followed by the Clarets’ 2-0 defeat to Norwich last weekend.

Dyche has become the 10th Premier League manager to be dismissed this season, following Xisco Munoz, Steve Bruce, Nuno Espirito Santo, Daniel Farke, Dean Smith, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rafael Benitez, Claudio Ranieri and Marcelo Bielsa.

He was the league’s longest-serving manager, guiding Burnley to two promotions and keeping them in the Premier League over the past six seasons – an impressive feat for a club of their size.

However, with them winning just four games all season and suffering a damning defeat to bottom of the table Norwich last weekend, the top brass at Turf Moor have pulled the trigger ahead of Sunday’s trip to West Ham.

A surprise move that few saw coming!

  1. A surprise move that few saw coming!

    Don’t think so mate.
A pretty similar kind of record to Howe at Bournemouth – a decent season or 2 but more likely to finish bottom five than top ten.
