Allan Saint-Maximin responds to exit rumours during Soccer AM interview – Video

Allan Saint-Maximin has declared that he wants to stay at Newcastle United for a “long time” during an appearance on Soccer AM today.

The winger has been linked with a summer move away in recent weeks, with The Mail’s Craig Hope claiming that our new owners could consider bids in the region of £50m.

There had been some suggestions that the player himself was keeping his options open and pushing for a pay-rise, however his latest comments suggest he is intent on repaying the love he receives from Newcastle fans and has no plans to leave anytime soon.

Here’s what the Frenchman had to say when speaking on Soccer AM:

“The Newcastle fans are really important for me with the love they give.

“I’m so proud to be at this club and to be here.

“I want to give back to Newcastle, to the fans and to the people who really like me here.

“I want to stay here for a long time.”

Hopefully the 25-year-old can silence the doubters with a match-winning display against Leicester tomorrow after coming close in last Friday’s 1-0 win over Wolves.

  1. If the Frenchman leaves it will not be his decision.
If a decent offer comes in, he’ll be shipped out, and replaced with someone a little more consistent.
