VIDEO: Steve Bruce left stunned as Jack Colback scores goal of the season contender in 4-0 beating

I can’t quite believe what I witnessed from former Mag Jack Colback last night!

The ex-NUFC midfielder isn’t known for his ability to score goals, finding the net just twice in his last 50 appearances, however the 32-year-old scored one of the goals of the season in Nottingham Forest’s 4-0 win over West Brom last night.

Deep into first half stoppage time, Colback let loose his inner Papiss Cisse to fire the ball into the top corner from a quite incredible angle to make it 3-0 Forest just before the break.

Steve Bruce’s Baggies side may have had a man sent off, but it was another abysmal performance from his side, seeing them have just 30% possession, one shot all game to Forest’s 17 and zero on target, leaving them 12th in the Championship and almost certainly out of the race for the play-offs.

Forgetting our former boss for a second, sit back and watch this quite incredible goal from Colback via the clip below!

  1. Hold on a moment – did you just compare that to Cisses goal against Chelsea.

Let’s have it right here. Cisse took aim & intended the ball to go in the back of the net. That really was a wonder goal.

Colback – and I take nothing away from his elation of scoring the goal – but that was a failed cross.

You can tell by the reaction of both players. Colback looked as shocked as everyone else. Cisse ran off celebrating before the ball hit the back of the net.

No sour grapes coz I have nothing against Colback. But to refer to a failed cross as goal of the season is mental ???

  2. Come on Olly – it was a miss-hit cross.
    A complete fluke.
And it needs to be recognised as such.
West Brom’s performance has nothing to do with it and neither does their possession.
You’re just using Colbacks Fluke to have a cheap shot at Bruce.
    You need to move on.
