NUFC identify new centre-back target – and he could be available for €28m this summer – Report

Newcastle United are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka, according to new reports emerging from Germany.

This comes from Bild, who claim that we’ve identified the 6ft 4′ Frenchman as a summer target after being impressed with what we’ve seen during scouting missions this season.

N’Dicka is a left-footed centre-back and former France U21 international who could be available at a reasonable fee this summer, with the report suggesting that €28m (£23.5m) could be enough to bring him to St James’ Park.

This is due to the fact he is entering the final 12 months of his contract with Frankfurt, meaning they are in no position to demand big bucks for a player who could leave on a free transfer this time next year.

The 22-year-old has not only bagged four goals and four assists in the Bundesliga this season – including a goal and an assist in their 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim over the weekend – but has been one of their star performers en route to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

So, he could be one to watch in West Ham’s two legged clash with Frankfurt over the coming week – a tie Toon scouts could be watching closely if news of our interest is in fact true.

With him a left-footed centre-back – like Milan bound Sven Botman – a good age at 22, good on the ball for his height and no slouch on the ground for a player of his heigh, he appears to tick a lot of boxes.
