Ally McCoist urges England international to join NUFC – “It would be a great move for both parties”

Speaking on talkSPORT, Ally McCoist has urged Jesse Lingard to join Newcastle United this summer – believing it’s a no brainer for both parties and the perfect move to get his career back on track.

The Manchester United midfielder was targeted by the club in January, but the loan fee demanded by the Red Devils was considered far too steep and the deal eventually collapsed on deadline day.

However, with the 29-year-old’s contract set to run out in the summer, McCoist has backed the England international to finally end up at St James’ Park when he becomes a free agent.

Due to our recent good form lifting us to ninth in the Premier League, the prospect of coming to Tyneside is now far greater than what it was four moths ago when we were in the midst of a relegation battle and a move could be much more enticing.

The Englishman will be desperate to force is way back into the national team in preparation for the World Cup and will have plenty of clubs to choose from with the likes of West Ham and AC Milan also being linked.
