7 absent, forgotten man returns and U23 trio called up by Howe – Official NUFC training photos

Newcastle United have released pictures of the players in training this week, offering a few early hints as to who could be available for Saturday’s clash with Liverpool.

Injured trio Ryan Fraser, Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier are nowhere to be seen, while Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett, Javier Manquillo and Matt Ritchie don’t feature in any of the 56 photos on the club’s official website.

Isaac Hayden may have been left out of Howe’s 25-man squad, however he is spotted taking part in first-team training for the first time this year.

The midfielder hasn’t played for the club since our 4-0 defeat to Man City back in December last year – a game which happened to be the last time we lost a Premier League home game at St James’ Park!

Elsewhere, it’s interesting to see U23 talents Matt Bondswell (left-back), Lucas De Bolle (midfielder) and Dan Langley (goalkeeper) were all invited to train with the senior squad by Eddie Howe. Three players to watch this summer when pre-season gets underway, perhaps?

Players featured in training photos: Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Martin Dubravka, Dwight Gayle, Federico Fernandez, Mark Gillespie, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Sean Longstaff, Jacob Murphy, Allan Saint-Maximin, Fabian Schar, Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Targett, Joe Willock, Chris Wood, Isaac Hayden, Lucas De Bolle, Matt Bondswell, Dan Langley.
