Newcastle transfer list 5 players and could allow 2 others to leave this summer – Report

According to Mark Douglas from i news, Newcastle will transfer list Isaac Hayden, Ciaran Clark, Dwight Gayle, Karl Darlow and Matt Ritchie this summer – while Miguel Almiron and captain Jamaal Lascelles could also be moved on.

Following a busy January window, Newcastle are now faced with the issue of a ‘top-heavy’ squad and, if we are to continue our spending in the summer, we will need to make room by getting rid of the deadwood.

If we are to spend big in the coming months then there must be numerous outgoings in order to balance the books and comply with financial fair play regulations – the last thing we need is to become another Everton throwing money at big names with no means of subsidising it.

This could mean the departure of many who have almost become part of the furniture at the club – the likes of Ritchie, Hayden, Clark, Gayle, Darlow and Lascelles all played in our promotion season in 2016/17.

Although they have been loyal servants to the club, many of these players had been deemed not good enough for the top-flight years ago and their exits may just signal the very end of what’s left of the Mike Ashley era.

  1. More Bullshit!
It’s just according to Mark Douglas who is just guessing.
We won’t get rid of the driftwood easily as they are on stupid wages and stupid contracts thanks to Ashleigh.
The skill will be negotiating reasonable departures for quite a few players.
As they say it will all come out in the wash!

  2. Hendrick, Matty Longstaff, Dummett, Woodman and Gillespie should also be added to that list.
All players who have nothing to offer this club. The hard working Almiron, however, in my opinion should be retained.
And at a push, if we are still needing to get rid to help our incomings, I’d say Sean Longstaff should go too as I fail to see what this guy offers us. Don’t think Wood has much of a future here either, although having paid £25m for his ‘goalscoring’ they may be reluctant to lose face on this one.

  3. Agree with Jinky Jim but maybe also ASM as well. If we can get 50million for him that could buy two players that can provide end product. Heresy I know but can’t see any place for none team players no matter how entertaining and flamboyant they may be. To play with the big boys is challenging and not wasting the few hard earned opportunities the team works hard to create is vital. Miggy can be directed and managed into something useful, not sure ASM can.

  4. Given the £Billions now required to compete with City, Utd, Chelsea etc. is there anyone that is worth keeping?
I thought the new owners were going to make Newcastle a real contender?
