NUFC loanee lands top prize after 3 goals and 2 assists in 6 games – Official announcement

Elliot Anderson has been named the EFL’s Young Player of the Month for April following an outstanding run of form for Bristol Rovers.

The Newcastle United loanee bagged three goals and two assists in the Gas’ six games last month, helping them to four wins and two draws to give Joey Barton’s men a slim chance of automatic promotion.

Anderson has not only been likened to a young Paul Gascoigne by Barton, but has received several rave reviews from Bristol Rovers fans on social media – many believe he’s FAR too good for the fourth tier of English football…and it shows!

With today the final day of the League Two season, he could even help Rovers earn promotion to League One should they better Northampton’s result in today’s 3pm kick offs.

Here’s what Anderson’s had to say since being named the EFL’s Young Player of the Month:

“I’m delighted to receive the award from the EFL.

“I’m enjoying my football and Bristol Rovers is a great Club to be playing for.”
