Watch the moment Elliot Anderson sent Bristol Rovers fans WILD with late goal to seal promotion

Elliot Anderson guided Bristol Rovers to promotion back to League One on the final day of the season yesterday, scoring once and bagging two assists in an incredible 7-0 victory over Scunthorpe.

The Gas came into the game level on points with Northampton – who were 3rd when all the 3pm kick offs got underway – but needed to better their goal difference by at least five to pip them to the final automatic promotion spot – and that’s exactly what they did!

Anderson has enjoyed a successful loan move to the Memorial Stadium under Joey Barton and finished his spell by inspiring his team to a huge victory in his last game – assisting two and scoring the all important seventh goal in the 85th minute that fired them back to League One.

You can watch the incredible scenes below, featuring Anderson’s late header (1:27) that sparked a pitch invasion after firing Rovers to promotion!

Talk about a dramatic final day – and Anderson was at the heart of it, playing a key part in so many of the seven goals!

Since his arrival in January, the 19-year-old has accumulated eight goals and five assists in 21 league appearances – also winning EFL Young Player of the Month for April – and has been crucial in their efforts to climb from outside the playoff positions into the top three.

With many Championship club interested in picking up on loan this summer, it will be interesting to see how manager Eddie Howe handles the Toon teenager during pre-season.

An incredible moment for an incredible young talent I can’t wait to see back on Tyneside in a few month’s time!
