Eddie Howe is the perfect man to lead this new project at Newcastle United and someone I’d love to see in the dugout for several years to come, but there’s another man many believe will manage the club one day.
That is Jose Mourinho. Sir Bobby Robson’s protégé and someone who has often spoken highly of the club, St James’ Park and the passionate supporters.
Speaking about his future at Roma in a recent interview with Sky Sports, he was then asked about another “big club that’s underachieving” in Newcastle United.
Mourinho initially distanced himself, respecting the role he has at Roma and praising the job Eddie Howe is doing, but the way he spoke about us in the seconds after his initial response has left many wondering if we’ll see him in charge of a club that’s clearly close to his heart.
Watch his response below, which comes after the 30 second mark:
“Yes, it’s true [his love Newcastle].
“Since Sir Bobby I learned what Newcastle is and I learned how to like the club very much through Sir Bobby’s eyes and heart.
“I’m very happy that they found their stability.
“Eddie is doing good work.
“The club gave him the tools for a change in the January market and I wish them the best.”
