Alan Shearer sends warning to Arsenal as Gunners prepare for ‘electric’ atmosphere

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Alan Shearer has warned Arsenal that their crucial game at St James’ Park later tonight will be a ‘very, very, tough’ game for the Gunners.

The North London club will arrive on Tyneside desperate for the three points, while facing a team comfortably safe from relegation and nothing to play for – but looking at the fans, you wouldn’t think it.

Wor Flags are set to make their biggest display yet with pieces of foil placed on every seat in the stadium as well as the normal wavers that are distributed every game – fans have been asked to arrive ten minutes early to make it a special night.

On the programme, Shearer said: “Tough one tomorrow night. Tough game. The atmosphere at St. James’ Park tomorrow night will be electric, as it has been for a while now, and Newcastle will make it very, very tough game for them.”

Co-pundit and ex-mag Jermaine Jenas also agreed, adding: “That’s everything that I wanted to hear. Absolutely love it.”

Arsenal, on their push for Champions League football, will also arrive with an injury plagued defence – may be an opportunity to capitalise on their issues with Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier back in the side.
