Bruno Guimaraes interrupts interview to send transfer message to Newcastle’s new owners

As Matt Targett was being interviewed during the players’ lap of honour, midfielder Bruno Guimaraes interrupted discussions to demand that the on-loan defender stays at the club.

The Brazilian star clearly believes securing the Aston Villa man in the summer should be a priority as he claimed “he needs to stay” during the Englishman’s interview.

Since January, full-back Matt Targett has been a breath of fresh air down that left side and has been one of our most consistent players in the last six months.

Rumours have been circulating that a deal worth around £15million to make the move permanent could be on the table in the summer.

Recent reports have suggested that while other offers will be made, the one from Tyneside is certainly the most favourable.

It’s fair to say that the 26-year-old has become a fan-favourite – and a team-favourite – and hopefully this won’t be the last time we see Matt Targett in a black and white shirt.
