Eddie Howe sends heartfelt message to Toon supporters after dominant display

Newcastle put in one of their performances of the season in their victory over Arsenal, but manager Eddie Howe chose to focus on his ‘incredible debt of thanks from me to the supporters.’

After the game, Howe said: “Brilliant way for us to sign off here. Very, very pleased with the performance. I think it’s our best performance, by some distance, since I’ve been at the club.”

Throughout the season, the 44-year-old has expressed his gratitude for the sheer amount of backing by the fans towards the players, but on a particularly special night, the boss labelled it as ‘incredible.’

The turnaround on Tyneside has been one of the most extraordinary stories of the Premier League in recent years and the Englishmen has been at the heart of all of it.

“Very, very proud to be connected with the club, an incredible debt of thanks from me to the supporters for how they have handled what was a very difficult situation this year.”

All Newcastle fans have ever wanted and will ever ask for, is players and a manager who are ‘proud’ to work for this club and in Howe, we have got just that.

He added: “When you think back to Cambridge and Watford, how they reacted after those games was absolutely magnificent.

“I think that paved the way for us to build some confidence and some unity and spirit to go on the brilliant run that we’ve been on. The support tonight was absolutely incredible.”

From being winless in our first 14, to reaching the dizzy heights of ninth and signing songs about European football, the former Bournemouth man has set himself up for an exciting next season.
