Spotted on Tyneside: Toon target pictured in Newcastle United shirt after surprise visit – Photo

Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been pictured wearing a Newcastle top in Bruno Guimaraes’ back garden just a few hours after eagle eyed Toon fans noticed he was on a flight to Tyneside.

We have been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old in recent weeks, with Bruno even issuing a plea for Newcastle to go and get him in an interview.

The midfield duo were born just three months apart in the same city and formed a strong bond during their two years together at Lyon in Ligue 1.

They also play in the Brazilian national team together, so will have a strong understanding of each other’s game and, alongside Joelinton, could form magical Brazilian trio.

Here’s the photos that have emerged on social media, showing the Lyon playmaker in our away shirt alongside Guimaraes:

With recent images surfacing of Paqueta in a Newcastle shirt upon his intriguing visit to the North East, hopefully a deal is around the corner and he’ll be following his best pal to St James’ Park:

You’d struggle to think of a more obvious transfer in recent history, but with reports suggesting we won’t have a huge budget to spend in the summer, it could all depend on the price and the key areas we need to improve in.

  1. Yeah sure we are in great shape, thanks to wor Eddie, and Guimaraes, who as far as we know has invited all of his ex players to join him here, visually taking over the transfer gig selection and whether one likes that or not most are happy enough to have him.
Looks like the two over six foot guys may be o their way, not really good enough.
Which means we still have a defense to put together, plus a couple of goalscorer’s up front and from what I gather then Eddie can take a hike also, being they intend to hire
    the Portuguese translator to SBR
Yeah Eddie was only hired to do the heavy lifting, that includes rebuilding the side and taking care of everything ignored by our ex cheapo
owner, while dedicating each shilling to-wards The Sports Direct project. I hear e is interested in buying some lower level club, so if it’s yours , watch-out!
And we just got some representation from the Middle East, some ex golfer, which along with Ms.whats her name with her husband, who appears to know noting bout football
to advocate for the arrival of who they think will be decent, but what do they know?
I feel a bit sorry for Eddie, but whadda ya gonna do? though their are plenty of decent coaches around and Eddie may not be the best, but he has done a fair enough job so far.
is this where the Saudis actually take over ? and run the club themselves, after all ain’t it
    their club !

  3. Paqueta would be a excellent buy and make the midfield a force too be reckoned with, remember we also have Jonjo and Willock among others who will be great backups! Joelintin has gone from a complete misfit too player of the season and is now the player people thought he was during his time in Germany. The defence could do with maybe a couple of newcomers too plug those small gaps that pop up every now and again around big Dan! And we really need at least one top class striker as Wood can do a job but hes never been a 20+ goals a season man and Wilson is great but spends most of a season on the Physiotherapy table! Rumour is Eddie has £90mil for transfers, I’m sure given the right players it will increase and look at the ones we are going to sell, Eddie will get any of those funds also. It’s not like in the past when we sold a player and Ashley just took it for granted that any money made was his to bank and spend on buying another failing business! Our new owners dont need to rob the club for funds! Maybe a new keeper will appear also. Whatever happens this summer is going to be very different for the fans, many have never known the start to a season where we are wondering just how far above 10th place we can climb, my 20yr old has really only ever known a season where we hoped we could finish up in 17th, twice we failed!!! A positive feeling around SJP ,we have never seen the likes of since the Keegan years!!!
