Toon scout spotted watching 4 players during Lyon’s 3-2 win over Nantes last weekend – Report

According to reports in France, Newcastle sent a scout to watch FOUR players during Lyon’s final home game of the season against Nantes last Saturday.

This comes from French outlet But! Football Club, who claim we were in attendance to watch Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta and Brazilian winger Tete, as well as Nantes’ Ludovic Blas and Moses Simon.

Paqueta, a close friend of Bruno Guimaraes, has been on our radar sine January, but a price tag of £67m set by the Lyon president could prove to be too steep for the Brazilian international.

His teammate, Tete, has only been on loan at Lyon from Shakhtar Donetsk since March but has had a big impact on their season, scoring twice and assisting four in just eight appearances.

The winger had his contract with his parent club suspended due to conflicts in Ukraine and was allowed to sign with another team until June.

Both players scored in a 3-2 victory over Nantes which has secured them a top eight finish.

For the opposition, both Ludovic Blas and Moses Simon are expected to leave this summer after helping Nantes lift their first trophy – the Coupes de France – in 20 years.

Blas has 19 goals and assists in 40 games this year from midfield while Simon, the Nigerian winger, has contributed 14 in 34.
