Newcastle set for £22m boost to summer budget after £13m swing goes in our favour

On what was one of the most memorable final days of the Premier League season, Newcastle secured an 11th placed finish after a 2-1 victory over Burnley which has bagged us a total of £22million in prize money.

In comparison, Leeds who finished 17th – a position which many of us would have bitten your hand off for in December – will receive £8.8million, a difference of around £13million.

Due to financial fair play regulations and a suggested budget of around £60million that is available for us in the summer, that extra money could prove to be crucial in funding our improvements.

This is largely thanks to Eddie Howe – our manager of the season nominee – who came into a rotten club, bereft of hope and ambition, and completely turned the season around.

With the work he has done with players such as Ryan Fraser, Joelinton and Emil Krafth, it will certainly be exciting to see what the 44-year-old can do with some serious investment.
