Eddie Howe robbed as Liverpool fans win the day in the end of season vote

The Premier League have announced last night that Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp has won the manager of the season award over Eddie Howe, Pep Guardiola, Thomas Frank and Patrick Vieira.

While the Merseyside club have done exceptionally well all season, Eddie Howe will feel hard done by after his tremendous effort to lift a club many had written off in December all the way to 11th.

An argument many will use against Howe is his January spending – around £90million – but his greatest achievements came from improving the players who were already at the club.

Looking at the likes of Joelinton – our player of the season – Ryan Fraser and Emil Krafth, the 44-year-old has completely turned around their Newcastle careers after many fans were willing to depart with the trio.

It is unfortunate that the Englishman has missed out on the award, but his efforts across the last six months have been recognised and praised by many footballing experts and he will hope for an even better second season.

  1. I don’t think Eddie will feel hard done by, Liverpool still have chance of treble. Howe has come in and done a brilliant job.
He will be looking forward to next season when he will have team for pre season and full season to see what he can achieve.

I am hoping we can get 7th spot but it will be difficult as we don’t have as much strength in depth as others that will be around us.

  2. It amazes me how people use the 90m spent against us and against Eddie Howe’s achievements. Yes Liverpool have been successful but would they have been if they didn’t buy players? I would be interested to know how much that team cost

  3. It would be like cutting their heart out for some of these sports writers to give a North East team and manager any credit, Sky Sports loads of credit for the Brentford manager which he deserves same for Pep and Klop but hardly a mention for Eddie Howe!
Why does that not surprise us?
The only way we will reluctantly be given credit is when we knock the Big 6 off their perches and win something, even then they will say it was bought with soiled money.
Of course Man Utd and Man City haven’t used soiled money!

  4. But its the Premier League Manager of the Year any success in any other competition shouldn’t be taking into account

  5. Everyone saying Klopp has the chance of the Treble so deserves it but none of that Treble was the Premier League Title and this is the Premier League Manager of the Year not the League Cup/FA Cup/CL Manager of the year

  6. It surprises me how people use the 90 million dollars spent against us and Eddie Howe’s accomplishments. Yes, Liverpool has been successful, but would they have been having they not purchased players? I’d be curious to hear how much that squad costs.
