Exciting talent offered pro deal by Newcastle after prolific season and 13 players released

Newcastle United’s Academy has confirmed its retained list ahead of the 2022/23 season, seeing a few familiar names released by the club and others offered professional contracts.

After an impressive 13 goals in 18 games last term, exciting young striker Michael Ndiweni has been offered his first pro deal, while U23 top scorer – Dylan Stephenson – has extended his stay.

Elsewhere, Tom Allan has left the club a few years on from his debut – which saw him set up Joelinton in a FA Cup tie at St James’ Park – alongside the likes of Adam Wilson, Mo Sangare and Brad Cross.

Here’s a full list of those who have stayed or been moved on from U18 to U23 level:

U23s offered new deal: Matthew Bondswell, Niall Brookwell, Will Brown, Lewis Cass, Joe Oliver and Dylan Stephenson.

U23s released: Tom Allan, Ryan Barrett, Brad Cross, Oisín McEntee, Mo Sangare, Regan Thomson, Jake Turner and Adam Wilson.

U18s offered pro deals: Michael Ndiweni, Harry Barclay, Kyle Crossley, James Huntley, Jamie Miley and Joshua Stewart.

U18s released: Piotr Banda, Liam Chrystal, Joel Green, Josh Nicholson and Nathan Robertson.
