NUFC set to launch formal bid for France international in the ‘coming days’ – L’Equipe

According to French outlet L’Equipe, Newcastle will make a formal offer for Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby ‘in the coming days’ after he was identified by the club as a ‘priority target’ this summer.

The 22-year-old has had a very impressive season in the Bundesliga, bagging 17 goals and 14 assists in all competitions as Die Werkself secured a top three finish and Champions League football next year.

Formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, the talented winger has already established himself as part of the France national team, helping to win the Nations League last October.

Newcastle could pair him up alongside fellow Frenchman Allan Saint-Maximin in what could be a terrifying forward line for defenders should striker Callum Wilson stay fit.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham are also rumoured to be interested in the young man but no concrete offer has been formalised by either side as of yet.

The German club are desperate to keep a hold of Diaby, but understand that there is major interest from top European clubs and will discuss the player’s future soon.
