Wolves contacted by Newcastle over potential summer move for £42million man – Report

Spanish newspaper SPORT are reporting that Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United have all made contact with Wolves in a bid to beat Barcelona to the signing of Ruben Neves.

The West Midlands club will supposedly demand “close to a record transfer” for the Portuguese international, with a £42million asking price placed on his head.

Throughout his time at Molyneux, the former Porto man has been a consistent performer playing over 200 games since joining in 2017 – has averaged over 35 games a season in his four years in the top flight.

At just 25-years-old, Neves still has a lot to prove in the Premier League and could certainly be part of a long-term project at St James’ Park should we choose to go down that route.

With Howe expected to be in the market for another central midfielder this summer, he would be a statement of intent alongside Bruno Guimaraes and another quality addition – although it may take big money and plenty of persuading to win this transfer battle, if true!

  1. Please repeatedly punch yourself in the face for churning this garbage out.
Neves has said he wants CHAMPIONS LEAGUE football.
    You get it?
That rule’s out mediocre nufc, mediocre arsenal and the diabolical man utd. Stop pumping this trash out and use your brain if you have one

  2. We couldn’t afford most of the players we have been linked to as Financial Fair Play Rules has seen to that.
At best we may bring in two/ three signings and a couple of loans with an option to buy and it wouldn’t surprise me if it was someone like Bruno who we had never really heard of.
Most of these reports are sportswriters making up stuff in order to fill their columns.

  3. No disrespect to Newcastle, but you have no chance of signing him, we want closer to £70 million for him as well.. we have Billionaire owners and we are still governed by FFP, we can’t just go out and buy who we want? also Wolves make more revenue than Newcastle at the moment, so I don’t know where you get your information from?? having rich owners doesn’t mean that you are going to break into the European Elite? Man Utd have spent a fortune and look at the season they have had?

  4. Fugdabout NUFC, they are rebuilding and hopefully the guy in charge knows what he’s doing. This appears to be a problem, which could disappear hopefully if they get some of the “too many cooks outta the kitchen”and let Eddie do his thing, I mean we did hire him to do a job, which as of now appears not so bad.
One minute it’s a claim of ”OH ! let me pick someone, instead of looks like the manager and the money man are in agreement, which should be enough and as we speak, the Saudis have broadened their horizons
about to spend more during this season where there appears to be plenty of players available or a decent price , with many of the top sides
unable to afford them due to debts @ the clubs.
Sure we can almost fill our potential, following years of having a tight-wad owner and fans and those employed by the side should be grateful, I mean we were on our way to becoming another S’Land or Boro.
    without the Saudi dosh.
A bit of patience and a lot more transfers both ways and we could become a phenomena throughout the footballing world.
    Yup ! Patience is a virtue !
