Newcastle preparing £15m bid after TWO players are given the green light to leave – Report

Newcastle are preparing a £15million bid for Manchester United’s Dean Henderson after agreeing to let both Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman leave the club, according to The Northern Echo.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Tyneside over the past fortnight, with Eddie Howe keen to replace his current shot-stoppers with a ball-playing goalkeeper.

The report states that we are ‘confident’ a deal will get over the line for the England international who is unsettled at Old Trafford after making just three first-team appearances last season – none in the Premier League.

As for those who could depart, Darlow will be keen to play some first-team football after being second choice for the Magpies since our promotion from the Championship and has been linked with a move to Middlesbrough and West Brom.

Woodman, who started the season in goal for us, has had some successful spells in the second division with Swansea and will most likely not want to play backup to Henderson next year.

Despite the potential arrival of a new number one, The Echo insist that Newcastle are not willing to depart with Martin Dubravka and hope to keep hold of the Slovakian for next season.
