5-year deal ‘agreed’ as Newcastle close in on exciting summer signing – Fabrizio Romano

It looks like Newcastle United are finally closing in on the signing of Hugo Ekitike.

This comes from Fabrizio Romano and a host of French outlets, with the former reporting that the forward has now ‘agreed a five-year deal’ at St James’ Park.

A move for the 19-year-old isn’t a done deal just yet, as it’s said the ‘finer details’ still need to be sorted, however Romano claims the fee could be €30m plus add-ons of around €5m.

The Ligue 1 striker very nearly arrived on Tyneside in January after a fee was agreed on deadline day, only for the player to remain in France for the remainder of the season – reportedly due to reservations about leaving his home nation midway through his first full season at senior level.

With him believed to be one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe and someone both Borussia Dortmund and PSG have also been tracking, this would be a huge coup for the club and great piece of early business.
