According to Sky Italy, Newcastle United have had an opening bid rejected for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo.
The report states that the €50m-rated winger could be sold by the Serie A giants to enable Jose Mourinho’s summer spending plans, however it’s said the player is not sold on a move to the Premier League.
As a result, our ‘offer’ has been rejected, with AC Milan and Juventus now showing interest in the 22-year-old who appears keen to stay in his homeland.
Interestingly, the Rome edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport reported in April that a club official was the stands to watch the Italian attacker in their semi-final clash with Leicester City almost six weeks ago.
Zaniolo bagged eight goals and nine assists last season, also scoring the one and only goal in the final of the UEFA Conference League – seeing them lift the trophy after a 1-0 win over Feyenoord.
