NUFC star emerges as surprise Tottenham target – but signing him will ‘prove difficult’ – Report

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham and Antonio Conte are showing interest in Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin, but prying him away from the Magpies will ‘prove difficult.’

Eddie Howe and Newcastle have already shown a reluctance to sell the 25-year-old, who has been crucial in recent years to keep us afloat amidst a couple of our most deflating seasons.

Despite a frustrating season from the Frenchman, he ended the season as our most productive player with ten goal involvements in the Premier League, two ahead of Callum Wilson with eight.

With the recent signing of Croatian international Ivan Perisic and the form of South Korean star Heung-min Son, it is unlikely that the talented winger would be a key player for the North London club, but could provide a valuable impact from the bench.

I’m not sure Spurs would give him the guaranteed game time he’d be looking for and I’m not convinced he’s the sort of player Conte would want, so this may be worth filing under the dubious category for now.
