“He wants the Newcastle deal done early” – Another Toon target keen to arrive on Tyneside?

According to Samuel Luckhurst from Manchester Evening News, Dean Henderson is eager to seal a move to St James’ Park ASAP – stating the Man Utd stopper “wants the Newcastle deal done early.”

It seems the 25-year-old is now desperate to join this exciting new project on Tyneside and gain a fresh start ahead of the World Cup in November, which he will no doubt want to put himself in the conversation for.

After zero Premier League appearances for the Red Devils over the 2021/22 season, the Englishman is described as “a man in a hurry” as he seeks to end a frustrating year at Old Trafford.

This comes after the former Sheffield United loanee was tipped to have held talks with Toon chiefs in Northumberland last month, with MEN reporting that he was edging closer to joining Eddie Howe on Tyneside.

A few weeks on, here’s what Luckhurst had to say when speaking in a recent Q and A:

“He [Henderson] wants the Newcastle deal done early and there’s been no indication so far that he should hang around.

“United are looking at options to replace him, so it would be a sudden shift for him to stay at United next season.

“He’s a man in a hurry, which is somewhat understandable after last season.

With a deal for Hugo Ekitike looking to be in place – RMC reported last night that he has now agreed to join the club ‘in principle’ – Newcastle will hope to add to their signings fairly quickly if they can capture the Cumbria-born shot-stopper.

  1. Why on earth would Henderson want to come to Newcastle to play second fiddle to Dubravka?
This just stinks of someone trying to manufacture a deal that is not happening.

  2. This must be about your tenth article about Henderson if they are talking they are talking but we don’t need it regurgitated every 2nd day.

If it happens it happens, personally I think our money should be spent strengthening the team elsewhere !
