Newcastle linked with ambitious summer move for 6ft 3′ Serie A midfielder

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Newcastle are prepared to rival Arsenal for the signing of highly-rated Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

With Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri wanting to revamp the entire squad, there is potential that the Serbian could be sold, but only for the right price.

So far, it’s reported that Arsenal are willing to pay £42million for the midfielder, but the Italian media claim Newcastle may be willing to match that offer.

The 27-year-old has been a mainstay in the Lazio side since 2015, helping them win the Coppa Italia in 2019, as well as making 33 appearances for his national team.

In recent months, the midfielder has also attracted interest from both Manchester United and PSG, but it seems the pair are now pursuing other targets.

After regularly being linked with a move to the Premier League, would you like to see Newcastle make a move for the 6ft 3′ Serbian?

Personally, I can’t see us paying this much if a move for a midfielder isn’t a top priority for Eddie Howe…
