Steve Bruce makes contact with Newcastle over potential triple signing – Reports

Steve Bruce is believed to be showing interest in bringing THREE Newcastle United players to West Brom this summer.

The Northern Echo report that the Baggies boss has contacted his former club over a potential loan move for Elliot Anderson, as well as showing ‘strong interest’ in a move for Dwight Gayle.

Ciaran Clark is the third Mag who’s being linked with a move to The Hawthorns, with Newcastle World reporting that Bruce is working on a permanent move for the Republic of Ireland international.

Personally, I’m not convinced we’ll leave our most talented teenager with a manager who struggled to get the best out of many of our players, not to mention the fact he denied Anderson a loan move before proceeding to leave him in the U23s over the second half of the 2020/21 season.

That said, moves for Gayle and Clark could make plenty sense. He often talked up both during his time on Tyneside and may feel that both are proven Championship players who could boost his promotion hopes.

The pair are clearly surplus to requirements under Eddie Howe and would both be familiar with that part of the world. Gayle spent a season at West Brom during the 2018/19 campaign, while Clark spent over a decade in Birmingham during his time with Aston Villa.

  1. Clarke has been a decent servant to the club. His red card that forced Joe into midfield is the standout moment. Anderson would be better off playing a full season under Joey again for me or any other championship team than WBA.
