French media claim Newcastle now eyeing £13m bargain as player asks to leave this summer

According to reports in France, Newcastle United are one of three clubs waiting in the wings for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

This comes via L’Equipe, who claim that the 27-year-old has now ‘asked to leave’ the Serie A giants, preferring to find a new club this summer than run down his contract – which is set to expire in 12 months time.

The report states that Newcastle, Manchester United and Chelsea are all ‘interested’ in the midfielder, who could be available for a bargain fee.

It’s said that Juventus would be willing to sell the former PSG star for around €15m (£13m), knowing he’ll leave for nothing next summer if they fail to get a fee for the France international in the coming months.

That being said, Rabiot is believed to be on big wages, having signed a lucrative contract at the Allianz Stadium after arriving on a free transfer from PSG three years ago.

So, if we really are interested in the 6ft 2′ midfielder, his wage demands may have to come down considerably in order to call this a ‘cut-price deal’ for the club!

  1. There is a reason why he is so cheap. His agent, his mother is a terrible person and has kicked off massively where he has gone. Plenty of drama.

  2. I was watching my local amateur team playing and I saw the Newcastle scout, apparently they are interested in signing the whole team ???
I’m getting fed up hearing us linked to everyone and their dog, just let’s wait and see what we get across the line, tbh atm it’s looking as shambolic as it did under Ashley, linked with everyone but got no one ☹️
