Newcastle now working on 4 deals as Eddie Howe eyes Fulham star and free agent – Report

Eddie Howe is pushing to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, according to an ‘exclusive’ from The Mirror.

This comes from Chief Writer John Cross, who also reports that we are STILL working on a deal to bring Jesse Lingard to the club following his release from Manchester United.

Lille’s Sven Botman and Reims’ Hugo Ekitike are also named in the piece as players Dan Ashworth is pursuing, however it’s interesting to see Adarabioyo’s name re-emerge.

The Athletic reported last summer that we were interested in the 6ft 5′ defender and aware of his relegation release clause. He remained at Craven Cottage and has just enjoyed a superb season in the second tier, being named in the EFL and PFA Team of the Year.

However, the 24-year-old still hasn’t committed to a new contract, meaning his current deal is due to expire in 12 months time – something Newcastle appear keen to capitalise on.

Fulham will be reluctant to sell following promotion, but he would be a shrewd signing at a potentially reasonable price, being a tall centre-back who is composed in possession and quick on the ground.
