According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle could make an ambitious attempt to sign Leeds star Raphinha this summer.
The Italian journalist claims that the winger is a “dream” signing for the club, believing we are one of several sides eager to land the Brazilian; who has been heavily linked with Arsenal, Spurs and Barcelona in recent days.
Raphinha has been key to Leeds’ two seasons in the Premier League since their promotion back in 2019, chipping in with 28 goal contributions in 64 appearances.
In an exclusive interview with Wettfreunde, here’s what Romano had to say:
“I can tell you one thing. Newcastle are among the clubs that could make an effort to sign Raphinha.
“They are very ambitious in the market.
“Raphinha is one of those players they dream about.“
It’s common knowledge that Newcastle are in need of a new winger, with Moussa Diaby and Ismaila Sarr having been linked in recent weeks.
But for many fans, the Leeds man would be THE perfect signing to pair up alongside Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson – a front three surely worthy of a top-eight finish.
I’d love to sit down with a beer and talk about it. I think we’d still agree and disagree, but it’s great that we don’t insult each other or call each other names.
