How Will Newcastle Perform Next Season?

The 2022/2023 season will be a step into the future for the new bosses at Newcastle. The takeover has proven good for the team as they finished 11th last season. With the new season starting in August, we will be looking at how Eddie Howe and the team strengthen the squad.

With the right personnel, the team can go far in either the FA Cup or Carabao Cup, to kickstart their journey to winning multiple trophies. In comparison, the team is on its way to becoming a top pick in the EPL, and we might see them return to the Champions League in a couple of seasons. As a result, they might get close to some of the favourites on the Super Bowl lines.

Predicting the new season won’t be easy, given that other teams are also looking to strengthen their squads, and winning anything in professional football certainly isn’t easy. Therefore, we expect a tough season even with the takeover and the new players joining the squad in the transfer window.

Where the team will end will be pretty unpredictable at this stage of the summer, but undoubtedly, we believe the team will finish in the top 10. However, with proper recruitment, the team can make it into one of the various European competition spots, especially the Europa League.

Manchester City and Liverpool will surely maintain their top form through their activities in the transfer market. Displacing the top two won’t be easy. Therefore, thinking of winning the league will take a few years for Newcastle, but it will happen eventually. The London teams will closely contest third place and fourth place.

Antonio Conte has been active in the transfer window, signing multiple players over the past few weeks. We’ve seen lots of intent from the team. Therefore, it seems like Tottenham might have the third spot to lose. The only open spot in the top four in fourth place, and Chelsea is most likely to take that next season, despite their ongoing difficulties to buy new players.

With the top four gone, being realistic, where does it seem like Newcastle would finish the 2022/2023 season? Keep reading to find out what we think.

Top Seven Finish

One of Newcastle’s goals for the new season would be to finish in the league’s top half. However, we think the team can get more than that with the right players and manager at the helm.

Therefore, we think the team can make it into the top seven spots. And as a result, they can secure a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League or the Europa League. Getting any of these spots will be a successful season for the team, and Newcastle can push to be better in the following season.

FA Cup or Carabao Cup Victory

Winning a trophy would make it better for the team. Since the EPL title will be difficult to win, it would be a mind-blowing experience to see the team win the cup at the end of the season. Therefore, we believe that domestic trophies are our best bets. They have higher odds, similar to most football fans guess with Super Bowl odds. Competing all around would be difficult with the top teams playing many games.

Therefore, Newcastle can focus on winning either the FA Cup or the Carabao Cup to make it a very successful season. We believe that the team can win if they have the right players, and they can keep going as they continue to play against different teams from around England.

Possible Rivals for Next Season

Next season will be tough, especially in the league’s top half. With Newcastle entering the fray, we will see West Ham, Manchester United, Arsenal, Leicester, and Newcastle locked in the battle for the other positions in the top seven spots. We might also see Wolves and Everton have a say.

We believe that Newcastle has what it takes to beat some of these teams to take a solid finish in the European League qualification zones. However, the team must sign new players if they are seriously considering a move into the top section of the league. Recruitment will be integral to their chances of delivering a positive season for their fans in 2022-23.

Our Thoughts

Just like you would bet on Super Bowl, you can support Newcastle next season as we think they will have a successful season to kickstart their rise to the top. Newcastle might not win the league, but we expect to see the team qualify for a European competition in the 2023/2024 season.

  1. Looking at Form
I agree that City and Liverpool with take the top 2 spots,
From 1st Feb to the end of the season we gained 34 pts from 17 games a ratio bettered only by the top 2
What we have to do is maintain that. Having Wilson and Tripper back should help
Pope and Botman assuming he arrives will strengthen our defence and we know we will be strengthened elsewhere.
Yes others will strengthen as well, but they have to catch us.
Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal are on a par with us, in what order they will finish 3rd to 6th I have no idea,
We are not in a fight for a top 1o0 finish, we are not fighting for 7th. we are one of 4 teams chasing 3rd. NB in that same period Utd got 20 pts from 16 games.
