It’s official: Newcastle release controversial third kit ahead of the 2022/23 season – Photos

Newcastle have today launched their white and green third kit ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The kit was leaked last month and remains a controversial choice from our new owners, with the white shirt with green trim looking incredibly like the national kit of Saudi Arabia.

Leicester (Thailand), Chelsea (Russia) and Wolves (Portugal) have all had kits manufactured to represent the nations of their owners, so it’s nothing new – but it’s caused quite a stir on social media and has already received a lot of criticism.

See official photos of the kit below, which also features Middle East sleeve sponsor Noon.com following confirmation of our partnership last night:

Club statement following the third kit’s release:

Newcastle United has launched its official 2022/23 Castore third kit ahead of the new Premier League season.

Closely following the unveiling of its classic black and white home kit for the new campaign, the club has revealed a white and green third kit, designed by the premium British sportswear brand, that will be worn on the road.

The Magpies’ kits are expertly crafted with Castore’s blend of high-stretch fabrics, offering an outstanding fit and freedom of movement for players and supporters alike.

The ‘Pro’ edition, worn by the players, features a range of technological advancements, with exceptional materials and laser-cut ventilation to enhance performance on the pitch.

All adult shirts will feature Newcastle United’s primary sponsor, FUN88, across the chest.

Supporters can order the 2022/23 Newcastle United third kit from 9am at shop.nufc.co.uk and in store.

  1. Hardly controversial .. most Newcastle fans and normal people would recognise that it’s a nod to the owners who have brought a lot of happiness into the toon .. it’s only media snowflakes doing the wokey cokey who have a problem with everything but themselves ..
