According to Sky Sports, Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis is attracting interest from two unnamed Premier League clubs.
They report that the Hornets are prepared to sell for £20m and it got me thinking – could Newcastle United be one of the sides taking a look?
Back in April, The Athletic revealed that the 24-year-old was someone we ‘looked at signing’ during his time at Club Brugge, saying he was a player our recruitment team are well aware of.
He sealed a £3m move to Watford last summer and didn’t take long to adapt to Premier League football, bagging 10 goals and six assists – an impressive tally given what was a dismal season at Vicarage Road.
Dennis can play up top or down either flank, something that may appeal to the club given we’re in the market for a new striker and right-winger.
West Ham and Everton have also been linked and could be the unnamed sides Sky Sports are referring to here, however he would tick plenty boxes for Newcastle and won’t cost a great deal.
Would prefer Cucho Henandez from Watford if we were looking at any Watford forwards.
