Newcastle set to sign Tottenham talent tomorrow – Report

Last month, it was revealed by Newcastle World that we’d taken Tottenham’s Jordan Hackett on trial.

Six weeks later, it seems he must’ve impressed, as The Mail’s Craig Hope has just confirmed that the 18-year-old will sign for the club tomorrow.

The left-back’s contract at Spurs is due to expire today, which explains why his move to Newcastle United will be made official on Friday, 1st July.

During his trial, Hackett featured for the club’s Academy in a 3-2 victory over Rangers B team last month and is expected to go straight into our U21 set up.

He’s represented England at both U16 and U18 level and has racked up 34 appearances for Tottenham’s U18’s over the past season, featuring four times in the FA Youth Cup.

This comes after the club completed a deal for Galway’s Alex Murphy – who will also join our U21’s next month – while a move for Kilmarnock’s Charlie McArthur is also in the pipeline.

With the club also pursuing deals for Southampton pair Kami Doyle and Tyler Dibling, along with Bristol City 16-year-old Reuben McAllister, it seems Dan Ashworth is intent on strengthening the Academy this summer.
