According to new reports, Newcastle United have entered to race to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.
This comes from CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, who claims that Dan Ashworth has now “made enquiries” about a potential move for the Belgian international.
Jacobs believes this is “one to watch”, as there’s now a “growing feeling” that we’ll compete for his signature – even if we’ll face stiff competition from the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at the King Power Stadium in 12 months time, meaning he could be available for a cut-price fee if the former Anderlecht talent refuses to sign a new deal at Leicester.
It’s said that Newcastle face a “challenge” to convince the player to join, but it would be another statement of intent if we even attempted to bring a player of his quality and proven Premier League class to St James’ Park.
