Michael Olise has been added to the long list of names under consideration at Newcastle United this summer, NUFC Blog can exclusively reveal.
It’s no secret that the club are looking to bring in a right-winger ahead of the 2022/23 season, and we’ve been informed that the Crystal Palace star is someone being watched by Newcastle’s recruitment team.
The France U21 international completed an £8m move to Selhurst Park last summer and showed glimpses or real quality during his debut season in the Premier League, bagging four goals and eight assists.
At just 20-years-old, it’s easy to see why Newcastle are showing interest in Olise; a left-footed winger who glides with the ball, has brilliant technique and the dribbling skills to beat his man with ease when he’s at it.
The Times revealed in May that the player had a £35m release clause in his current contract, however The Athletic have since reported that a new deal – which could up the buyout fee to £50m – was ‘close.’
It appears as though Moussa Diaby is our top target when it comes to a new right-winger – something The Athletic confirmed earlier today – but Olise could be another one to watch if we can’t strike a deal with Bayer Leverkusen.
As a Palace fan that lives in the NE dream on if you think you are getting Michael Olise
